To prepare and develop tomorrow's leaders, the Resort Industry Student Experience (RISE) internship program provides the structure and resources to harness, teach, and grow talented students into successful career professionals through an immersive, holistic, and dynamic learning experience in the hospitality industry.
All internships will consist of hands on work, observations, special projects, training, feedback and evaluations. Students will have the opportunity to form connections with both their peers and industry leaders who are in roles in both their own department and others.
Internships are approximately three to six months long. At the completion of the internship there may be the opportunity for seasonal, full- or part-time employment, however placement is not guaranteed.

As an H.R. Benefits Intern within the R.I.S.E. Program, you will be responsible for all Human Resource administrative tasks as well as various duties to support all Human Resources initiatives for Corporate Services, Resort Operations, Sales and Marketing and may extend to Marketing Call Center teams. The Human Resource Coordinator will develop positive and collaborative partnerships with team members and management of client group to provide them with customer driven HR services and create a positive employment environment by implementing all HR programs and processes accurately and timely, ensuring consistency and fairness.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS
1. Contact tracing, maintenance of personnel records, and other employee information through scanning and filing, prepare files for the legal department, complete unemployment claims in a timely manner, assist with managing the leave administration process, may complete exit interviews, and recognition tasks, and assisting all team members with general questions.
2. Maintain accurate I-9 records through an audit process to include updating the termed I9 records and destruction, generate and communicate Human Resource reports to support the business and order supplies as needed
3. May support and assist with departmental and corporate Human Resource initiatives such as various hosted events, Engagement Survey, Open Enrollment as well as special assignments and projects as required and assists team members with general questions.
4. Assist Human Resource Manager and Director with employee relations investigations as needed while maintaining confidentiality with all personnel information and records. Ensure all HR decisions and practices are compliant with all government regulations (EEO, INS, ADA, FMLA, ADEA, OSHA, etc.) and all Federal and State employment laws.
5. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Enrolled in college/university courses or has graduated within the last six months
- Preferred 4 year degree
- Preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher and be in current good standing with the college/university
- General HR knowledge
- Fluent in English and Spanish (preferred)
- Strong computer skills including MS Word
- Must be process oriented with a strong attention to accuracy and detail
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities
- Excellent computer skills; must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Must have exceptional customer service skills
- Must be able to secure housing in the location of the internship for the duration of the internship. Some but not all resorts, will be able to provide housing options
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must be able to complete entire program without interruptions

To be eligible, you must be currently enrolled in a college/university in the United States and possess unrestricted US work authorization.
