Position Summary

The buyer planner manager directs the daily activities of the inventory analysts / coordinators to ensure that the correct inventory levels are maintained through the execution of sourcing decisions to ensure timely fulfillment of orders.

The individual will be responsible for the development of safety stocks levels and the coordination of purchasing decisions to maximize client satisfaction while maximizing cash flow


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the planning function for the purchase of medications to ensure availability to meet patient and client requirements
  • Develop and implement planning strategy to achieve company goals related to inventory and cash flow
  • Develop, review and adjust orders as needed to meet patient requirements
  • Manage safety stock levels and purchasing decisions
  • Works with management to address procurement issues, including procurement support, market trends assessment, pricing, and product availability.
  • Ability to negotiate terms and conditions with vendors/suppliers that results in best outcomes for business
  • Work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders (both business and vendor) to help build the appropriate vendor relationships and frameworks.
  • Look for opportunity to optimize vendor spend and value
  • Create and maintain vendor management documentation
  • Create Reports as needed
  • Additional duties as assigned


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required. Experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
  • 3+ years in planning, procurement or similar experience required
  • Experience with inventory management ERP/ MRP systems


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong attention to detail in high-pressure situations
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong MS Office skills including Word and Excel
  • Possess excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
  • General understanding of desktop, server and network technologies
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively
  • Excellent customer service and communications skills
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Willingness to work extended hours or weekends when necessary


Work Environment / Physical Demands

This position is in a typical office environment which requires prolonged sitting in front of a computer. Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment including operation of standard phone equipment.
