Summary:

The Laboratory Technician is responsible for providing support to the research and development (R&D) department by collecting and analyzing data through manually running assay tests using both Western Blot and ELISA testing; gathering and preparing samples for laboratory analysis; and maintaining inventory for the R&D department.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Correctly run manual assay testing using Western Blot and ELISA techniques to produce reliable and precise data.

2. Carry out routine tasks accurately and follow strict methodologies to carry out analyses.

3. Effectively communicate test results to Manager

4. Maintain R&D inventory

5. Gather & prepare samples for laboratory testing and analysis.

6. Organize samples and reagent kits in refrigerators and freezers used specifically for R&D purposes

7. Clearly document work, including procedures, observations, and results

8. Operate sophisticated laboratory equipment.

Non-Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Set-up, maintain, and clean laboratory instruments and equipment.

2. When time permits, provide assistance to Validation Specialists and aide in the kit assembly process.

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Miami, FL are encouraged to apply.

Education/Experience

* Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in biological science or a related field.
* At least 1 year of previous work experience in a similar position required.
* Previous ELISA testing experience required.

Computer Skills

* Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox
* Must be willing and able to learn other software programs as needed.
