Job description
FTX Arena is hiring a Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis to provide FP&A support for all arena capital projects, Special Projects department and overall organization needs. Model long-term financial forecasts and evaluate feasibility and profitability of construction projects. Work directly with arena operations, special projects department and project managers to monitor financial performance of capital portfolio. Assist with creation of departmental business case analysis, return on investment analysis and fixed asset tagging. Candidate should be analytical, inquisitive and detail-oriented. Work closely with the BPL, Assistant Controller, BPL Controller, VP of Finance and EVP of Special Projects. Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide financial analysis, modeling and forecasting to guide investment, overall CAB financial strategy and provide advice on Special Projects
- Assist in reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating the CAB process
- Establishing a system of internal controls and financial reporting for capital projects
- Analyzes project financial status by collecting, monitoring, and studying job costing data, recommending action
- Monitor and track Special Project costs to ensure projects are run in a fiscally responsible manner
- Identifies financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
- Analyses financial results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management
- Assist project manager in activities concerned with the reporting and control of the construction process; contract amounts, work orders, change orders.
- Respond to questions or complaints from vendors or County/City administrators regarding issues related to payments, balances, charges, inventories and other financial information
- Interacts with the EVP Special Projects, project manager and/or construction manager for managing financial objectives, goals and performance
- Help create procedure for the organization to evaluate project results regarding schedule, costs, client relationships, quality, activities and other performance
- Assist with vendor procurement, analysis and tracking as well as monitoring/tracking progress toward SBD goals
- Prepares construction budget tracking reports to show cost to date vs. original budget and present to key stakeholders including president and owner
- Provide post construction project financial reports and performance
- Ensure accounting department has the necessary invoices and funding is in place so vendors are paid in a timely manner
- Assist BPL Assistant Controller with Settlement Duties for FTX arena shows and concerts
- In charge of the Fixed Asset tagging project as assets are received by the arena.
- Assist in preparation of monthly reports.
- Assist with operating budgets and coordinating with department budget owners.
- Assist with all annual audits.
- Assist with cash flow projections.
- Ad hoc financial analysis upon request
- Possess strong organizational skills and ability to meet report deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in English and Spanish is preferred (an advantage when dealing with vendors in S. Fla.)
- Prior experience in construction is preferred
- Ensure Company Policies and procedures are being followed.
Prior construction finance experience preferred. Financial planning, forecasting and budgeting emphasis. Finance or Accounting Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a 4-year college or university; Very organized, analytical, inquisitive and detail-oriented. Able to meet tight deadlines and adapt to a fast-paced, fluid environment while balancing multiple tasks at once. Must be proficient in Microsoft Applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics, Great Plains, SAP, Prophix preferred but not required.
