Job description
BASIC PURPOSE: Develop and manage the IT Organization financials. Responsible for establishing and maintaining a high degree of transparency and accountability for all IT Capital projects, ship operating expense, and SG&A expense. Execute on key financial planning initiatives driving the coordination of IT forecasts, annual budgets and capital planning analysis. Provide financial support and ad hoc analysis to support month-end accruals and a variety of business decisions.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with IT business owners to lead IT budget planning, forecasting and manage the financial planning process.
- Prepare Quarterly Executive Meeting Schedules and reports.
- Prepare company-wide Capital Planning ROI analyses for all related projects assigned.
- Identify optimal resource allocation to maximize financial returns.
- Liaise with NCLH Senior Management to update and analyze KPI's of related projects.
- Deliver IT forecasts, annual budgets, & capital project expenditures.
- Prepare analysis and reporting on IT financials. Identify key drivers of variances and implement improvements when necessary.
- Liaise with Operations Finance to collect and report financial information/business updates.
- Review detailed financial analyses prepared to support CPARs using, but not limited to, internal rate of return, net present value of future cash flows, and payback period analyses.
- Proactively manage all active IT CPARs ensuring that all appropriate documentation / analyses are prepared and reviewed in a timely manner.
- Review of financial data in the general ledger to ensure proper classification of transactions. Pursue needed corrections of entries. Recommend and justify modifications to the general ledger structure as needed.
- Develop reporting tools as needed by the Operations to successfully run the business and make good decisions.
- Prepare financial analysis models for all potential initiatives and measure results while in test periods and also after a permanent fleet-wide implementation. Provide recommendations as a result of the analysis performed.
- Assist Operations with the development, review and upload of all budgets and forecasts, contract reviews and reconciliations of related incentives, marketing funds, etc.
- Recommend and implement process improvements and standardization, creating and maintaining documentation, to streamline and improve the overall process flow of various functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field of study; or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Master's Degree preferred but not required.
EXPERIENCE: 4 years of experience in Accounting/Finance, and/or budgeting functions, preferably in IT related function. Thorough knowledge and experience with Accounting practices related to Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process and FASB rules applicable to IT (SOP-98). Five years background performing various types of business analysis at a high level. Advanced level of experience with Hyperion, Excel, and Access. Must demonstrate ability to work with the highest degree of accuracy.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Good understanding of the IT industry and cruise industry preferred. Good business savvy & common sense. Good interpersonal skills. Willing to take ownership of areas of responsibility. Goal driven. Excellent communication and 'people' skills. Must be able to work quickly and under pressure while maintaining high levels of accuracy, personal responsibility and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Solid analytical ability. Team player - ability to work well with team members and outside contacts.
