Job description

The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. This position will also support the Human Resources department as necessary.

* Perform general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.
* Build and maintain departmental budgets and budget reporting.
* Develop sales forecasts, forecast variances and pipeline reports.
* Reconcile balance sheet accounts, reviewing for input accuracy, and prepare monthly reports and journal entries as needed.
* Review monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements for accuracy and completeness.
* Supervise reconciliation of bank accounts, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
* Perform consolidation of operating entities.
* Liaise with counterparts throughout the organization to streamline operations and reporting.
* Prepare and process semi-monthly payroll.
* Reconcile cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections.
* Provide outside auditors with assistance; gather necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
* Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
* Coordinate offers, preemployment screening, and onboarding.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
* Perform routine tasks required to assist with the administration and execution of Human Resource programs.

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
* At least three years related experience required.
* Working knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
* Proven payroll experience, with a focus on streamlining accounting processes.
* Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel.
* Experience working with data from multiple systems and sources.
* MBA and/or CPA preferred.
