Position Overview
AITC's Business Development organization is looking for a Business Development Manager - Western Region to provide Capture, Proposal, and growth strategy support for future program development opportunities. This position will support the growth objectives for Army and other State, Local and Government entities throughout the eastern region of the United States and OCONUS. This position reports to the Chief of Business Development and will plan and support all aspects of the organization's business development policies, objectives, and initiatives. The Business Development Manager will support day to day activities in the organization's business development and corporate planning functions.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Assists in the development of a long-term strategic Business Development plan, portfolio campaign plans Develops and maintain currency of BD pipelines for the growth of the organization within the Western Region.
- Assists in the development of strategies for identifying and responding to business development opportunities, which may include internal expansion into new markets or external expansion via partnerships, mergers, acquisitions, or joint ventures.
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with partners and ensures ongoing satisfaction of the partner organization.
- Supports cross-functional Teams for Marketing/Business Development, Capture and Proposal development.
- Gathers and analyzes data evaluating new business opportunities or assessing potential markets, to assist executive teams in decision making and planning.
- Prepares proposals, pipeline, call-plan reports, and presentations demonstrating the potential value of new business opportunities.
- Manages BD operations for opportunities that are identified, approved for the pipeline, and through the qualification Business Development Review (BDR) process.
- Collects competitive intelligence information to prepare proposals in response to requests for proposals (RFPs).
- Bachelor's Degree and at least 6 years of experience with a Federal Contractor, or 10 years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Proven business development, marketing, teaming, capture, and proposal experience.
- Formal business development training e.g. Shipley or other equivalent corporate level Business Development courses
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
- Active DoD Secret clearance
- Up to 20% travel can be expected, including OCONUS
- Comprehensive knowledge of the field's concepts and principles. Performs complex tasks typically following established processes.
- Extensive knowledge of the FAR/CFARS/DFARS and DoD/Army policies
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Management and technical skills in the areas of IT, Networking, Cybersecurity or similar domains.
- Administer established policies and procedures, provide input to departmental budgeting, strategic planning, and procedural change.
- Former acquisition contracting experience as a field grade officer, DoD civilian or Senior NCO.
