Job description

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Business Analyst works closely with Information Technology, Digital Marketing and Restaurant Operations departments to understand business objectives and determine and document business process and requirements while partnering with the solution teams within IT to deliver comprehensive solutions. As part of understanding the business needs, this role will also need to explore industry information and elicit stakeholder input to help implement improvement in the customer focus, efficiency, accuracy and effectiveness of these processes. The ideal candidate will have experience working in the digital space for hospitality industry.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Understanding business process management and business requirements of the customers and translate them into business and functional documentation that can be used by developers to deliver applications that support the functional, technical and visual requirements
* Lead requirements analysis, validation and verification, ensuring that requirement statements are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible, traceable, feasible, unambiguous, and verifiable actionable. Manage changes to requirements through effective use of change control processes and tools
* Facilitate discussion and elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, user stories, requirement annotations, scenarios, wire frames, business analysis, competitive product analysis, task and workflow analysis, and/or requirements workshops. -Facilitate requirements prioritization based on business needs
* Analyze business processes to identify, document and communicate solutions that improve the business process.
* Assist with promoting the key concepts of process improvement and its benefits to the business units
* Support the definition and documentation of descriptive artifacts including user stories, wireframes, and requirements
* Remain engaged throughout the project at critical milestones, also assisting the business partners on the business readiness for their portion of the project
* Support test planning and execution activities through close partnership with the QA team.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:

* Minimum of 4 years' Business Analyst with Process Improvement experience
* System thinking capability and analytical and problem solving skills
* Experienced in agile methodology

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

* BS/BA in Business Administration or business-related subject

OTHER KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

* Strong facilitation, observational and interviewing skills
* Strong time management, prioritization and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once
* Ability to work independently under the direction of the project manager
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
* The candidate must be process-oriented with sound judgment, attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through including the flexibility to perform in an ever-changing work environment
* Monitor and manage project scope and enforce change management with the support of the project manager.
* Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate and persuade at all management levels

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

* BS/BA in MIS, Computer Science, or Mathematics
* MBA a plus
* Experience with process improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean)
