Job description

SCOPE

The entry level Payroll Administrator will oversee the organizations payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed timely, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations for contractors and employees.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process bi-weekly, multi-state payroll for employees including time management and garnishments
  • Process bi-weekly payment runs for contractors including invoice review and reporting
  • Collects, verifies, and prepares data for payroll processing in Paycom
  • Audit pay errors or omissions
  • Responds to pay-related inquiries from employees and contractors
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates
  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage and hour laws, and best practices
  • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors
  • Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures
  • Assists HR team in special projects and performs additional duties as required

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Two years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping with at least six months of experience in payroll preferred
  • Knowledge of employment laws and wage and hour regulations
  • Knowledge of payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience in HRIS or Payroll software and reporting required; Paycom experience preferred
  • FPC or CPP certification preferred
  • Effectively problem-solve and exercise good judgment, while maintaining discretion
  • Experience in analyzing payroll data and reporting abilities
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and initiative to complete assignments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
