Job description

This position takes on the combined duties of an Assistant Teacher and Security Officer. This hybrid role is responsible for assisting the Lead Teacher with daily activities as well as maintaining a safe and secure environment by protecting preschool children, employees, visitors, and property. The Teacher Assistant role will supervise, nurture, and give guidance to a group of children, and takes responsibility for the classroom and children when the Lead Teacher is absent. When performing the duties of Security Officer, this role is responsible for enforcing Rosen Preschool policies/regulations and ensuring the observation of applicable laws by surveying the property for potential danger/distractions.
***Position is Monday thru Friday***

Minimum Requirements

Experience and Education
High school diploma (higher degree preferred); one to three years working as a teacher or teacher assistant in a preschool environment preferred, plus one to three years of security experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires 45-hour state mandated early childhood certification which may be obtained within first six months. CDA certification or waiver a plus.

Minimum Requirements*

• Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills with staff and the general public, especially in emergency/stressful situations.
• Requires extensive walking, standing, bending and working outside, regardless of weather conditions, for almost the entire shift.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Bilingual a plus.
