Job description

Position Overview:The Global Immunology Department in Sanofi Pasteur's R&D organization is seeking a Scientist I for its Human Immunology platform, which is in Orlando, FL. This position will serve as an integral member of a research team responsible for the design and implementation of experimental studies to assess the immunogenicity, reactogenicity, and MoAs of vaccine and drug candidates using complex in vitro models of human immunity. The ideal applicant will rely on their scientific experience to independently prepare study plans, perform experiments, analyze data, and prepare research reports/slide presentations while working cooperatively with both scientific staff and senior leadership to meet campus and project objectives. This position will be responsible for performing preliminary data analyses and coordinating with senior team members to prepare findings into scientific presentations. Qualified candidates will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory procedures using established methods and techniques under general guidance while maintaining GRP and HSE standards and policies. The position requires work with human blood products.General Duties:Demonstrate a basic understanding and application of fundamental scientific principles, theories, and concepts when performing experiments that contribute to project goals.Collaborate on project experimental study plans and assist senior staff in preparing reports, presentations, publications, patents, and grant applications.Develop innovative and novel immunoassays and perform a variety of assay methods, including ELISA, ELISpot, FACS, and multiplex bead arrays.Critically evaluate relevant literature/protocols with respect to applicable projects.As required, serve as a lead in the laboratory to design and execute experiments with scientific staff that comply with standard protocols and maintain scientific normsWork collaboratively across teams and projects.Adhere to standard concepts, practices, and procedures of working in a biological laboratory, including complying with Good Research Practices (GRP) guidelines.Adhere to industry and government standards regarding aseptic technique and safe handling of biohazardous materials.Knowledge and Skill Required:PhD, M.Sc. with 3 years, or B.Sc. with 5 years of relevant experience. Degree should be in biological, chemical, physical, biomedical, or applied science field.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Knowledge of in vitro immunoassays, immunology, model systems, human infectious diseases, vaccine discovery, and/or multivariate datasets is preferred.Sanofi Inc. and its U.S. affiliates are Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action employers committed to a culturally diverse workforce.
