**The successful candidate will be provided a $15,000 signing bonus after starting the new role. External candidates and internal Koch company employees moving to the new location when hired are considered eligible.**
Georgia-Pacific has an immediate opening for a Process Engineer-Process Safety at our Foley Operation located in Perry, FL. This will report to the Safety Manager. This is an opportunity to join an organization dedicated to excellence in safety, continuous improvement, and innovation. The selected individual will partner with operations teams and be responsible to support the facility in process safety efforts.
The ideal candidate will possess an entrepreneurial spirit while providing leadership and strategic direction for Process Safety Management (PSM) across covered areas and balance of the facility. As a key leader within our mill operations team, the Process Engineer-Process Safety has a specific focus on ensuring processes are designed, operated, and maintained for safety. The Process Engineer-Process Safety serves as a mentor for mill leadership and all employees to develop knowledge and appreciation for the value created by a process safety approach to managing operations.

What You Will Do In Your Role
Providing leadership and direction to achieve Process Safety excellence through management commitment and employee ownership
Sharing the Process Safety vision and lead efforts to improve organizational process safety and chemical process safety culture and knowledge
Ensuring employees understand expectations and exercise their decision rights regarding Process Safety/Chemical Process Safety
Leading efforts to drive metrics, both performance based (i.e. leading indicators) and outcome based (i.e. trailing indicator)
Leading a customer focused approach to partner with operations in reducing process safety risk
Fostering Process Safety ownership within the organization through leadership, coordination, and coaching in accordance with the Compliance Standard(s) and Foley Policies
Assisting with the development and conducting of risk assessment methods/systems for anticipating, identifying and evaluating hazards
Driving improvement projects to completion to reduce identified risks
Maintaining and improving the change management process
Assisting facility leadership with the development of short and long-term Process Safety objectives, targets, strategies, and measures that prioritize and mitigate risks
Ensuring the development, improvement, and implementation of training systems to meet compliance standard requirements
Actively identifying Process Safety elements gaps and puts sustainable processes in place to close them
Working with employees at all levels and positively influence those outside of their line organization to meet element requirements
Proactively working with the corporate Process Safety and compliance IT groups to make improvements to the corporate Process Safety processes and IT processes
The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Science, or a technical field
Three (3) or more years of Process Safety Management/Risk Management Plan experience in a manufacturing, industrial or chemical process environment
Experience and working knowledge of process safety regulations (29 CFR 1910.119 and 40 CFR 68)
What Will Put You Ahead
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
Experience in heavy manufacturing and/or nuclear energy processes
Experience with developing standards/procedures/training
