This position is for you if:
- You no longer want to be an OTR driver and be home every night with your family.
- You have a minimum of 2 years Class A driver experience.
- You are customer-oriented, work well with other team members, and have good communication skills.
- You have a good driving record, punctual, trustworthy, and reliable.
Join our team
As the successful Truck Driver, you will be working with our EPS Plant Manager (25 years in manufacturing), the EPS Office Manager (13 years with Speedling), and the rest of the EPS team. This role is responsible for delivering quality products to the designated locations within a given period of time. The driver is a very important role as a valued member of the shipping and receiving operations as you provide the final human link between our Customer and Speedling. It will be your duty to ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the delivery vehicle and must ensure the safe delivery of the product without delay or damage.
The job details
- Operate company-owned and/or leased trucks to facilitate shipping and receiving operations.
- Operate truck for the delivery, pickup racks, and trailers of nursery products and materials.
- Receives and provides appropriate documentation for the delivery or pick up of goods to ensure timely service
- Perform required before-, during-, and after-operation "user maintenance" and provide required reports.
- Maintains radio or telephone contact with dispatcher to receive delivery or pick up instructions or to receive notice or changes in scheduled delivery or pick up, maintaining logs of travel and cargo according to Federal and State regulations.
- Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations.
- Operate in a safe responsible manner are compliant with all Federal, State, and DMV regulations.
- Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and OSHA and company safety programs.
- Maintain and protect all property entrusted to you in excellent condition.
- Inspect trailers and other equipment for needed repairs.
- Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations including, but not limited to, helping load and unload racks on trucks and assisting with maintenance and production when not delivering.
