Job description
Advanced Systems Design is seeking a Business Analystfor our client located in Tallahassee, FL. Please note: Remote work would not be considered or negotiated.
Job Description
- Responsible for working with the customer on high level requirements gathering, obtaining project cost estimates, business cases, use cases, test cases, and other documentation as needed
- Responsible for working with the Section Manager and/or Project Managers in the coordination, status reporting, and stability of project work efforts
- This includes helping to establish and implement project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations and needs
- Responsible for assisting with the development and maintenance of project plans, schedules, and other project documentation
- Will assist with tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of the project or customer.
- Will be part of the team responsible for the remediation of applications to function with new technologies and enhanced applications
- Must possess at least intermediate knowledge and proficiency in the use of project management methodologies and tools, resource management practices, and change management techniques
Primary Job Duties/Tasks
- Provide project support to the Section Manager and Project Managers including status and schedule reporting, change and procurement management, and other project-oriented documentation
- Learn, understand, and become proficient in navigating the Transportation Technology, Technology Proposal Process
- Provide a high level of support to the customer
- Understand and ensure compliance with the reporting and documentation requirements outlined in the Agency for State Technology (AST), Chapter 74-1, Florida Administrative Code
- Assist with initial handling of service desk tickets by reviewing the ticket information, assigning to the correct technician, and notifying the customer that their ticket has been assigned
- Complete other projects or duties, as assigned by the Section Manager
Job Specific KSAs
- Ability to perform detailed research, business analysis, as-is and to-be analysis, process modeling
- Ability to perform System Analysis & Design using a variety of modeling methodologies and techniques
- Ability to expertly facilitate joint analysis workshops, or other project meetings, with customers
- Technical knowledge and understanding of IT infrastructure and software development practices and techniques
- Understanding and working knowledge of various project management methodologies such as agile/SCRUM or waterfall
Experience
- 2-4 years of technology-oriented work experience, including 2 or more years assisting in the management of technology-oriented projects
- Solid, demonstrated knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook)
- Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Project is desired
- Experience and proficiency in using Microsoft Excel is required
- Preference will be given to candidates with technology-oriented project management experience or experience assisting with managing technology-oriented projects
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience
- Professional certification in Business Analysis is desired, but not required
- Project Management Professional certification is desired but not required
