Responsibilities:

Oversees the day-to-day accounting functions of the credit union. Ensures that staff performs duties in compliance with applicable federal & state laws and in conformance with GAAP. Provides leadership, planning, motivation and development to all assigned staff within area of responsibility. Meets with direct reports regularly to discuss performance and department related business. Provides research & analytical support for accounting related questions. Works closely with executive management on special projects and analyses of credit union financial reporting. Department liaison / representative for both internal & external credit union projects and implementations of inter-departmental initiatives.

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor of Arts/Science degree in Accounting from an accredited university required.
• Minimum of five years of accounting experience required; CPA preferred.
• This position requires a highly motivated individual with demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills, very strong communication skills (both verbal and written), strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to organize work, multi-task efficiently and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Management experience in Accounting environment preferred.
• Highly proficient in Excel.
