Job description
Role Value Proposition:
MetLife's Global Balance Sheet Controls "GBSC" Unit is seeking a Financial Analyst responsible for overall governance of MetLife's cash and suspense accounts. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal communication skills, and the ability able to work both independently and in a team setting with minimal guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain MetLife's global cash account inventory and ensure all cash accounts are consistently aligned between the various treasury and general ledger applications.
* Prepare monthly and quarterly regulatory reports to include TIC, TFC and Schedule E.
* Assist MetLife line of businesses with reconciliation efforts when needed.
* Responsible for the Chart of Values (COV) process for all cash account openings and closings.
* Responsible for seeking out process improvements and projects, and communication with management on progress of such items.
* Review suspense certifications and related waivers/exceptions in accordance with MetLife policy.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
* 2-5 years of related experience in the Finance industry.
* Strong analytical skills and ability to research and resolve issues.
* Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
* Proficient in MS Excel
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently
* Ability to handle multiple tasks and ability to meet deadlines.
Preferred:
* Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent work experience.
* Adaptable to various work situations; ability to work well with others across all levels of management and geographies.
* Ability to maintain a positive attitude and effectively cope with change, including independently learning new skills and knowledge as required.
* Knowledge of insurance industry a plus.
