Senior Payroll Associate

Lets do this. Lets change the world. In this vital role you will l process bi-weekly, multi-state payroll in an accurate and timely manner. Additionally, the Incumbent will set up, run, validate and accurate the output from the automated files associated with the processing tasks, including processing and running off-cycle payroll as scheduled each week. Also, the Senior Associate of Payroll will review payroll input including, but not limited to, timekeeping, direct deposit, wage garnishment administration and payroll adjustments.
- Adheres to an end-to-end processing schedule and ensures processing schedule tasks are completed for each step accurately and on time at all times
- Completes auditing mechanisms to verify the information was accurately entered, uploaded or applied
- Processes and review off-cycle manual checks such as terminations, adjustments, etc.
- Works closely with Human Resources (HR) to ensure personnel data is received timely and accurately
- Runs work queries and reports during the on-cycle and off-cycle payroll close process to ensure the accuracy of employee payroll, HR and benefit information including earnings, deductions, payroll taxes, work list, and leave balances
- Researches and resolves any pay issues or discrepancies for worked and non-worked time
- Completes year end tasks as assigned by payroll processing or tax managers and provides support for user issues that get escalated
- Provides access to payroll and other related records and assists in preparing documentation and responses for legal inquiries, litigation and court appearances
- Maintains strict confidentiality of employee, financial and company records

Basic Qualifications:- Bachelors degree
OR
- Associates degree and 4 years of Payroll
- High school diploma / GED and 6 years of Payroll
- 2+ years experience in Payroll with subject matter expertise in Canadian payroll.
- Experience working with any of the following systems and/or vendors: SAP, ADP EV5, Workday, Merrill Lynch Benefits, ServiceNow, and Xerox / Conduent benefits processing
- Knowledge of payroll implementation and system testing
- Advanced Microsoft Office Experience
- Ability to communicate and collaborate cross-functionally in a large employer setting (10K+ employees)
