Position Summary The Tax Analyst is an integral part of our Global Tax & Compliance function. This function prepares the Firm's US Partnership tax filings, manages the payment of the Partners' taxes in the 30+ countries in which the firm operates, and works with management to ensure the Firm and each of its offices is in compliance with the relevant local tax rules. The Tax Department handles all annual and quarterly reporting of tax information to the Firm's partners worldwide, provides information to the Firm's non-US offices for local tax filings, and monitors tax compliance in every country. The Tax Analyst is involved in all aspects of tax compliance, partner tax accounts reconciliations and other related analysis and reporting. He/she interacts with colleagues in other departments as well as other offices of the firm to deliver timely work product with highest quality and accuracy. This position requires an ability to work independently and diligently in a fast-paced, global and dynamic environment where attention to detail, analytical skills and strong communication skills are essential. Our Functional Area The Global Finance team is led by the Firm's CFO, Steve Wrede, and is made up of approximately 280 team members around the world. Committed to our 2020 strategy for profitable growth, our core functions include billing and collecting Firm invoices, statutory accounting for the Firm and for individual offices, creating and distributing management reports, processing payments to vendors or reimbursements to employees and managing payroll for our people. Together, we work seamlessly across our network of offices and countries where we operate. Our team's remit includes partner compensation and the maintenance of partner equity accounts; strategic procurement of vendor services; global tax strategies; inventory management, and finally analysis of the profitability of clients, matters and groups of timekeeper. We work with partners and with other business services groups to establish hourly billing rates as well as client-specific fee arrangements. Our Treasury team is responsible for global cash management, foreign currencies and hedging. In consultation with Firm leaders, we set annual global revenue and expense budgets across Regional Sections and offices, including legal and business service departments. The team continuously reviews expenditures throughout the year to ensure that the Firm's resources are being used efficiently. Duties and Accountabilities Prepare various schedules and work papers in the preparation of Firms Partnership Tax Returns (All Jurisdictions) Analyze transactions and prepare work papers for book to tax differences Prepare and or review non-income tax returns and relalted schedules (insurance, property tax, sales tax) Work with the Tax Team and other colleages in preparation of Partners K-1's and all supporting spreadsheets Review various checklists and account reconciliations as prepared by other Tax Team members such as forms and elections, charitable contribuitons, membership fees and partner costs schedues. Provide Quarterly and Year-end Tax Estimates to the Partners Calculate quarterly estimated tax payments and tax extensions as required Gather information as requested by non-US offices for foreign tax reporting Submit tax payments to Manila for AP Processing Prepare journal entries to record tax liabilities on the paerner's accounts receivable Assist in preparation of capital account reporting to partners Help maintain documentation of all tax issues/guidelines Assist in preparation of Firm's Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts (FBAR) filings Assist with gathering data from foreign offices on foreign tax payments and assist in preparation of foreign tax schedules for quarterly and year end reporting to partners. Prepare or review partner cash flow statements and departure calcualtions as requested. Communicate with accountants regularly for accuracy of monthly reporting when necessary in analyzing tax issues Perform special projects as requested by management, partners and accountants Qualifications 4 Year College Degree with Major in Accounting 1-2 years' experience in public and/or private accounting Proficient in Excel & Word Knowledge of 3E system preferred but not a must (will train) Tax software a plus (Insource and/or PWC partax) Ability to handle a deadline oriented environment; work well under pressure Excellent interpersonal skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Good communication skills both oral and written Highly motivated, assertive and proactive Team player Customer-service oriented Strong work ethic Location and Reporting This role is based in Tampa.
