Position Description

Pulse8 is seeking a talented Expert Business Analyst to provide application solutions for the assigned business area. Position will also be required to perform support functions and other ancillary duties as assigned. Superior technical, critical thinking and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this position. Position is primarily a combination of BI platform innovation and maintenance, external data mining and solutioning, and translating business requirements into product specific designs and configuration, detailed requirement specifications and use cases.

This is a remote role.

Responsibilities

• Be a key player in an Agile environment, participating in daily huddles, sprint planning, retrospectives, etc.
• Work under the direction of the Manager to provide application solutions for assigned business
• Possess expert level functional knowledge of assigned application technology.
• Interact with business users to understand new business requirements and enhancement requests
• Serve liaison role between application technology vendors, internal IS groups, and business users.
• Translate business requirements into product-specific designs and configuration, detailed
• requirement specifications and use cases.
• Deliver functional specifications, design documents, business process workflow and related documentation for new development projects and/or enhancement
• Perform functional application configuration and configure /run reports at user request.
• Design and execute functional, integration, and regression test plans for new application functionality, product releases and enhancement and regulatory modifications using business scenarios and use cases.
• Ensure programs meet business specifications.
• Demonstrate new functionality to business users seeking inputs on future direction.
• Review vendor provided documentation and user manuals needed to support the product.
• Investigate problem areas
• Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear, clean code
• Identify and document opportunities for automation and improvement of data ETL and QA processes
• Perform a wide range of other ancillary duties in support of production runs and other company initiatives as necessary
• Maintain oversight of overall product integrity in coordination with other products and/or downstream impacts
• Assisting management in prioritization of tasks and development of product roadmap
• Liaison with internal teams to ensure that requirements are aligned, understood, and coordinated
• Research and propose relevant emerging technologies to develop technical edge for the product
• Peer review and sign-off of others work
• Mentor junior team members in best practices and standards
• Demonstrated ability to see the bigger picture and have a long-term vision for future changes and enhancements
• Understands business needs and expectations, evaluates information, uses experience in forming opinions, evaluates the benefits of alternative solutions and their impact to determine the most appropriate course of actions to achieve goals
• Ability to translate ideas, thoughts, and feelings into language that is easily understood by team members with varying levels of technical expertise
• Seeks and accepts developmental and/or special assignments
• Adaptive to technical/market changes and updates
• Self-motivated work style

Qualifications

Academic and professional qualifications:

• Minimum: BA or BS degree or equivalent experience, Master's degree preferred.

Experience:

Minimum Qualifications

• Expert in: Sisense or other BI platform experience such as Tableau or Power BI
• Proficient in MS SQL, Database Design, Normalization, T-SQL Stored Procedures and Functions
• Expert analytical and critical thinking skills
• Strong knowledge of healthcare data and value-based models
• Strong interpersonal skills
• 10+ years of experience in business, statistics and/or data analytics role

Preferred Qualifications

• 8+ years' experience in providing high-level business process support for assigned product/project, recognized an expert in the organization in assigned product/project preferred
• Knowledge of healthcare with relative experience in: Claims data, CCLF data, HCC model, Medicare Shared Savings Program, Value-based programs, Risk adjustment, Medicare, Quality (5-Star, QRS, HEDIS) and Medicaid
• Agile/Scrum/Kanban
• Experience using SDLC software such as TFS or Jira
• Experience with testing, specifically writing test cases, unit testing, and automated testing
• Experience with other database technologies
• Strong documentation skills
• Knowledge of medical coding terminologies such as MedDRA, SNOMED CT, RxNorm, and ICD-10

Travel requirements:

• All Pulse8 employees attend two company summits per year in various locations.

Working Arrangements:

• Monday through Friday or as defined by assignment requirements
• This is a remote/virtual position
