Job Overview

Reporting to a Portfolio Management Team Lead, this person will oversee and manage a portfolio of 20-25 middle market cash flow loans organized by industry sector for private equity-backed transactions, with primary focus on day to day monitoring of portfolio financial performance, internal reporting requirements, validating data accuracy, on-going incremental and amendment requests, industry sector performance, and communication with the borrower, internal operations, underwriting and originations contacts.


Responsibilities

  • Monitor the performance of assigned portfolio of cash-flow loans, including review and spreading of financial statements, ratios and covenants to track the financial health of portfolio companies.
  • Conduct financial and business due diligence to determine the appropriate account management monitoring, including company and industry research, and financial analysis. Proactively highlight any concerns or issues with a comprehensive assessment and recommendation.
  • Lead and/or collaborate with Credit teams on processing amendment and incremental requests, including the approval submission and the review of related amendment documentation.
  • Develop and manage relationships with assigned portfolio borrowers and lender groups, including establishing and maintaining lender portals.
  • Prepare clear and concise written business updates on portfolio performance to various stakeholders on a timely basis and present your assigned loan accounts at internal portfolio reviews.
  • Compile portfolio and industry metrics for industry dashboards, reviews, reporting, and analytics projects, coordinating with various stakeholders, including borrower contacts, internal originations and underwriting coverage, capital markets, legal counsel, loan closers and operations personnel.
  • Anticipate key business, marketplace and competitor dynamics in finding opportunities for the portfolio.
  • Coordinate with loan operations to ensure accurate billing and to address day-to-day borrower needs including letters of credit issuance, revolving and delay draw term loan draws.
  • Maintain on-going compliance with loan agreements and internal policies.
  • Ensure proper records retention and associated documents are maintained on an on-going basis and audit certain business processes to ensure internal data accuracy for portfolio reporting purposes.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, with a preferred concentration in finance, accounting, business, or economics.
  • 3+ years related experience including, but not limited to: private credit, commercial corporate lending, corporate credit ratings, valuations, or accounting. Portfolio management experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and proven experience with financial statement analysis and ability to independently monitor and identify variances in financial performance.
  • Motivated self starter with a responsive, friendly, and professional demeanor and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be decisive, highly organized and prioritize tasks including the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and adjust priorities as needed in a deadline-driven environment while maintaining careful attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work productively in a cross-functional team environment with both internal and external stakeholders while taking individual responsibility for quality and accuracy.
  • Proven record of reliability and dedication to high quality work product.
  • High proficiency with Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and financial spreading software.re
