Job description
Primary Purpose:
The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for partnering with the Human Resources Business Partners and hiring managers to identify talent for high volume and niche roles. As the face of Norfolk Southern, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will follow full cycle recruiting guidelines and work to ensure a positive applicant experience.
Principal Duties:
- Develop, drive, and execute comprehensive search strategies - including a recruitment plan which is geared towards building a diverse workforce, brand recognition and meeting the hiring needs of the business.
- Build internship program by fostering new and pre-existing relationships with colleges and attending pre-approved virtual job fairs.
- Recommend ideas and strategies related to recruitment that will contribute to the long-range growth of the Talent Acquisition team, document any new processes, fine tune standard processes, staying informed of trends and innovative recruiting techniques.
- Establish and maintain productive relationships with assigned departments, employment agencies and other organizations
- Evaluate resumes and applications received for assigned departments.
- Input information needed to generate employment reports.
- Interview and evaluate candidates.
