General Summary:
The Human Resources Manager partners with plant operations leadership to attract, engage, develop and maintain a high performing workforce and drive business results. Responsibilities include employee relations, talent acquisition and retention, wage administration, onboarding, training and development, performance management, regulatory compliance and HR operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contributes to a positive and proactive safety culture. Demonstrates strong commitment and leadership to providing a sustainable, safe, and healthful work environment. Ensures full compliance with all applicable company and regulatory environmental, health and safety requirements.
- Promotes, supports and ensures compliance with all food safety and quality practices, policies, and initiatives
- Collaborates and consults with line managers to develop and implement effective HR strategies, initiatives and practices that improve individual and organizational performance.
- Fosters a workplace environment consistent with K&P pillars; builds trust and credibility with the workforce and leaders.
- Leads and manages talent acquisition for plant positions. Owns hourly staffing; forecasting, execution, selection, onboarding, documentation and partnering with employment agencies.
- Delivers effective onboarding processes and orientation for new hires.
- Identifies employee training and development needs and priorities. Plans, manages, delivers and evaluates training programs to ensure success.
- Develops processes and practices to improve retention.
- Cultivates and promotes positive employee relations in a non-union environment.
- Manages and administers hourly pay rates, wage structure, job descriptions, promotions and transfers.
- Manages and supports performance management and merit increase process providing guidance and direction to supervisors. Guides, coordinates and approves disciplinary actions and terminations.
- Develops and guides leaders on HR policies and practices at the plant level to meet business and legal requirements.
- Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts timely, thorough and objective investigations.
- Identifies and resolves HR compliance risks. Engages outside counsel as needed. Implement a systematic approach to maintaining compliance.
- In collaboration with plant leadership, creates and facilitates employee engagement, appreciation and recognition initiatives.
- Provides strategic guidance to leaders in areas of change management, employee development, diversity and inclusion, job and organizational design.
- Facilitates the resolution of payroll and benefits issues, as required.
- Drives innovation and continuous improvement in HR functions and processes to better serve the business.
- Leverages data driven solutions to support the business and advance results.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, HR or related field
- At least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in manufacturing
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification strongly preferred
- Acts with consistent integrity, professionalism and personal accountability
- Ability to engage with operations, build productive partnerships and coach/challenge leaders
- Exceptional communication, conflict resolution and relationship building skills
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and project management skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, HCM systems, and Time and Attendance systems
