Position Summary
Provides comprehensive Human Resources support and guidance to the business leaders to ultimately improve talent level in the organization and align people capabilities with business objectives. Ensures that all plant HR activities are performed in a legal, ethical, and credible way. Develops and implements Human Resources programs and policies in support of the business imperatives. In partnership with plant GM and HR lead, proactively identifies improvements, determines, and implements short- and long-term strategies concerning plant talent capabilities, efficiency, and other matters. Advocates employees drives administrative efficiencies, and continually strives to understand how HR supports the business for bottom-line site improvement. Understands and promotes the critical balance between site and corporate HR objectives. Must be a strong HR partner and advisor to site General Manager.
Essential Job Functions
* Manage the HR function in a large complex with multiple plants and warehouses.
* Provides guidance, best practices, and drives efficiency and effectiveness in all areas of human resources, including recruiting, compensation, talent management (e.g., training, succession planning), analytics, and administrative (e.g., payroll/benefits) programs
* Carry out multi-plant employee relations and other employee programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and business regulations.
* Partners with plant management to drive continual improvement of site people capabilities, including labor planning, performance management processes, competitive salary processes, analysis, recognition, and rewards programs.
* Provide advice, guidance and assistance to all management and supervisory staff on interpretation and administration of personnel policies and programs
* Develop training programs directly with the manufacturing plants to ensure sustained and effective programs exist
* Is responsible for the salary administration, disciplinary processes, and investigations
* Consult on issues related to legal and procedural compliance, employee relations, strategies, and performance management
* Thorough knowledge transfer and coaching, assist client group to acquire skills and knowledge for effectively handling and resolving employees' issues and change management
* Delivering coaching, guidance and support relevant to the needs of client groups in areas such as: talent management, leadership skills, and employee engagement
* Assist in the rollout of various HR based programs and initiatives
* Manages plant communications to promote employee understanding of business objectives programs and policies.
* Provides coaching and guidance and counseling to the General Manager and others
* Develop HR Generalist.
* Acts as liaison between Division/Corporate office.
* Act as the conscience of the organization and keeps a solid pulse on the organizational issues.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Requirements
* Four-year degree (or higher) required in area of discipline, Professional Certification a plus
* Minimum 5 years as a Human Resources Manager or Senior Generalist background experience in a manufacturing environment
* Recruiting experience in salaried and salaried non exempt roles
* Must be a change agent
* Experience in a turnaround situation is ideal
* Strategic and Critical Thinking
* High energy, positive and upbeat. Thrives in a fast paced manufacturing environment
* Experience supporting multiple plants on one complex
* Proven discretion and sensitivity to confidential information
* Strong Relationship Builder
