What we're looking for:
As an HR Specialist, you will be responsible for providing support to the human resources department by processing and maintaining employee records through the Human Resource Information System (HRIS). The work you do will make it easier for new employees to start working for Goodwill.
What you'll be doing:
- Maintains up-to-date employee records by processing employee status changes, completing on-boarding and processing hires, terminations, and other changes as needed through the human capital management system in timely fashion
- Maintains accurate listing of complete and incomplete I-9s for all new hires to ensure the agency follows I-9 requirements; Conducts audits of I-9 documentation
- Monitors, maintains, and confirms employment verification including but not limited to background results, E-Verify, participant backgrounds, finger printing process, etc.
- Assist in verifying employment for agencies that are unable to utilize our automated employment verification system
- Responsible for maintaining the HR Help Desk ticketing system and assist with the maintenance and/or technical issues of the human capital management system
- Assists and provides support to internal and external customers in accessing and utilizing the human capital management system
- Assists with performance evaluations and other employee changes to ensure all evaluations are completed within the established timeframe
- Run reports from the human capital management system to review employee records and perform data entry updates/corrections into the system as needed to maintain accurate information
- Responsible for maintaining file room records, processing Department of Labor (DOL) notices, and creating employee ID badges
- Performs additional duties as required and assigned
Requirements:
- Associates Degree in Human Resources, Business or related discipline required
- Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business or related discipline preferred
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in data entry, HRIS, human resources, and/or business administration
- Demonstrated effective decision making skills
- Must have good oral and written communication skills
- Proficient and familiar with human resource information system processes
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Extremely organized, flexible and reliable
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality, flexibility and responsiveness
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to adapt to changes in operations, policies and procedures
- Must have a positive attitude and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Maintain dependable transportation and communication devices
- Ability to comply with Federal vaccine mandate per contract site with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Working Environment Conditions/Requirements:
- Ability to work in an office environment and perform office functions
- Ability to push, pull and lift up to 25 lbs. with our without accommodations
