What we need:
Mohawk is looking for a Immigration Program Specialist who can do more for all Mohawk Flooring North America brands across residential, distributor and builder multifamily divisions.
This position is responsible for interfacing with corporate customers and families to provide international immigration and relocation program administration and management in compliance with immigration and employment laws and regulations. This includes coordinating domestic and international real estate services and expense tracking and reporting services. The job holder works closely with the Sr. Director Benefits/HRIS/IS, Recruitment, Business Unit HR leadership, Shared Services Administration, and Legal.
What you'll do:
HR Leadership support:
- Performs work of a confidential nature and appropriately exercises initiative and discretion as necessitated by the situation.
- Creates meeting agenda and distributes information to all parties who should receive it. Collects information needed for reports and meetings.
- Prepares and produces reports, using judgment for format layout. Provides ad hoc analysis as needed.
- Researches prepare and edits reports and presentations, ensuring the data is accurate.
- In support of the functions, assist with workflow improvements, utilizing system resources in driving efficiencies, and growing in knowledge in the role. Key performance metrics include establishing and maintaining appropriate processes while maintaining a high level of client satisfaction.
- Ensure quality, timely and cost-effective deliverables, meeting the team's expectations. This includes tasks outsourced to others
Immigration Support:
- Advise employees and/or families on immigration requirements and procedures for acquiring a Visa, Work Permit, Residence Permit, Certificate of Coverage, Passport, Medical and Immunization requirements, and any other required documents for any country that hosts Mohawk employees.
- Counsel potential and selected expatriates on initiation processes and continue to provide counseling as needed throughout the assignment lifecycle. Serve as the first escalation point for assignment issue resolution with expatriates and third-party vendors within the Global/International programs.
- Submit applications(s) to appropriate immigration authorities; monitor and stay abreast of immigration status of employees; track expiration and renewal dates for immigration matters.
- Work with HR partners, global immigration partners, and vendor administrators to facilitate the immigration process for relocating employees and family members. Communicate and coordinate immigration and relocation processes and procedures to relevant individuals, departments, and local HR points of contact.
- Analyze financial results of global expatriate and relocation spending in line with budgets and financial forecasts. Ensure that business units have an accurate estimation of costs for each assignment before the assignment is approved. Coordinate cost distribution among business units.
- Identify process gaps and implement process improvement and resolution. In consultation with the team, develop new procedures and refine existing procedures where necessary to embrace "best practices".
- Track and update Candidate Logs during the PERM process. This includes reaching out to applicants when they appear qualified, scheduling interviews between applicants and hiring managers, etc.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field. Professional certification a plus.
- 3-5 years of progressively responsible professional HR experience with exposure to customer services, and international/relocation administration.
- Knowledge of the laws, regulations, policies, procedures and practical application governing the functions of Human Resources. Knowledge of Mohawk's organizational and functional operating structure, products, policies, and administrative procedures.
- Knowledge of policy-development and administration. Experience leading or facilitating the development and implementation of business oriented projects
