Job description
Milan Eye Center is excited to have been awarded "Best Ophthalmologist" in North Fulton and South Forsyth! We are a growing, multi-provider, multi-location, ophthalmic practice in the North Atlanta area seeking a FULL TIME front office receptionist for an Ophthalmology surgical services. Our practice seeks a fast paced and experienced professional with at least 2 years of related experience. Must be extremely organized, detailed and a strong team player.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
General Statement of Duties: Greets, instructs, directs and schedules patients and visitors. Serves as a liaison between patient and medical support staff.
Examples of general duties:
· Maintains work area and lobby in neat and orderly manner
· Screens visitors and responds to routine requests for information.
· Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner
· Checks in patients, verifies and updates necessary information in the medical record
· Answers telephone, screens calls, takes messages and provides information
· Types correspondence as directed
· Attends meetings as required
· Manages scheduling, telephone and coordinates patient flow
· Collects accurate patient data via patient/caregiver participation and enters corrections upon admission
· Exhibits excellent customer relations when working with physician offices
· Assists in preparing patient medical record prior to admission
· Collects money from patient when necessary
· Documents patient information according to established standards of care, policies and procedures
· Provides pertinent patient information to the physician and family members
· Discusses patient information with other health team members in an appropriate environment
· Performs related work as required
Professional Requirements
· Adheres to dress code; appearance is neat and clean
· Reports to work on time and as scheduled, completes work within designated time
· Attends annual review and mandatory meetings as scheduled
· Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner
· Knowledge of medical terminology is required
· Maintains patient confidentiality
Regulatory Requirements
· High school diploma or equivalent
· One year previous experience in a medical office or similar training
Skills
· Basic computer knowledge
· Ability to set priorities
· Knowledge of business office procedure
· Skill in greeting patients and answering the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner
· Ability to speak clearly and concisely
· Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instruction.
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public.
