Job description
TheIntermodalDriver Recruiter's primary responsibility is the sourcing and screening of Class A CDL owner operators, independent contractors and fleet owners (with or without their own DOT Authority) for NFI's intermodal & drayage terminals. Accountable for sourcing and recruiting activities including conducting job fairs and seminars; attending trade shows (truck shows); social media, community networking, and developing other viable recruiting sources.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a full understanding of the local CDL labor market, and identify effective market-specific sourcing tools
- Know where and how to reach drivers and maintain relationships with those drivers from the point of introduction through hire
- Source, recruit, screen, and interview experienced driver candidates, utilizing sales, research, and networking skills, including cold calling, e-mail, computer databases, and Internet recruiting resources
- Maintain all pertinent applicant and interview data in the TenStreet applicant tracking system (ATS)
- Sell NFI's programs and value propositions to those candidates
- Assist qualified candidates in completing all necessary forms, and ensure all necessary paperwork is sent to the Processing Team
- Work with Terminal Managers to understand staffing needs
- Partner with operations management on recruiting activities
- Perform other special projects as assigned
Requirements:
- BA/BS degree preferred; or high school diploma with demonstrated pro-active recruiting or sales experience
- 1-2 years professional experience in Driver Recruiting, preferably in either recruiting Owner-Operators or recruiting for Intermodal / Drayage opportunities (including internships)
- Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships
- Excellent knowledge of Internet candidate data mining
- Professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Exceptional planning, time management, and project management skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task are essential
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite; experience with recruiting technologies a plus
- Knowledge of DOT requirements a plus
- Ability to travel locally
