POSITION DESCRIPTION:

As a Business Development Specialist, you'll interact with prospective clients with the primary goal of scheduling initial conversations or web-based demonstrations and driving new business activity for your assigned sales manager. This position can be located in our headquarters in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, our Chicago office, or it can be a remote role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Gain a general understanding of corporate tax and CSC Corptax products; training provided
• Perform analysis on assigned territory to identify qualified companies within that market
• Research qualified companies in assigned territory to understand decision-makers, influencers, key trends, major changes, or company needs
• Effective precall research to engage in an informative and meaningful conversation with decision-makers
• Send professional, compelling emails and leave voicemails that generate responses
• Track all communication in NetSuite CRM database in a detailed and organized manner, as directed
• Continually seek out new and creative ways to generate leads
• Build relationships with internal and external partners
• Ensure a high level of customer service

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Entry level position; zero to three years of experience
• Associate's or bachelor's degree
• Superior communication skills (verbal, written, and telephone)
• Excellent listening skills and ability to identify needs
• Competitive spirit, self-motivated, and goal-driven
• Time-management skills-ability to organize and prioritize own time and tasks
• Strong relationship-building skills and a professional business presence
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications (specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) a plus
