The essence of the role

Sinch currently have offices of various sizes in 50+ locations globally and in the North America region we currently have larger offices in San Antonio, Chicago, Atlanta, complemented by Seattle, San Francisco, Reston, Colorado, LA, Austin, Minneapolis, Springfield and Montreal. We are therefore looking for an experienced Facilities and Workplace Experience Manager North America. This is a newly created role, and you will be working with securing our facilities strategy in North America. This function will help Sinch to figure out the best facilities solutions for all the North America region, adapt and implement global guidelines and procedures and lead potential Facilities and/or Workplace team.

We want you to live in San Antonio, Chicago or Atlanta since our main offices are located there.

As our Facilities and Workplace Experience Manager North America your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Represent Workplace to Sinchers across the region
  • Maintaining business relationship with Managements teams, act as the trusted workplace advisor and steer various strategic workplace activities for the region in co-operation with the Global Head of Facilities and Workplace Experience
  • Be the right hand to our Global Head of Facilities in strategic work for the region's workplace facilities portfolio
  • Lead facilities project in the region (relocations, construction, rebrands, fit outs, settlements) in cooperation with Global Facilities team
  • Negotiate lease and service agreements for workplace solutions
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal, external and supplier stakeholders - negotiate agreements. Responsible for facility related contracts and service providers (security, parking, utilities, messenger) in cooperation with Sinch Global team
  • Drive employee experience through the region, ensuring that we are providing great work environment that is safe, inspires and energizes employees
  • Drive sustainability efforts - making sure we make responsible decisions related to our workplaces
  • Line manager for the facilities and workplace team in the region
  • Allocate and manage the space between buildings, ensuring that the facilities meet government regulations and environmental, health and safety standards
  • Manage budgets and ensure cost-effectiveness. Identify and implement cost efficiencies on a regular basis
  • Support and manage, as required, all aspects, details and delivery RFP process, management of vendors/partners, insurances, construction budget tracking and renewal schedule
  • Collaborate with other regions, your peers and industry in general in identifying opportunities and implementing positive changes in workplace
  • Participate in assessing site specific workplace needs and producing space recommendations. Participate in Real Estate Planning activities.
Who are you?

To contribute to this role it is not an advantage that you've worked a lot with exceptional high level of maintenance skills since we don't own any buildings. You have a strong interest in creating and implement the best workplace experience for our people as well as a financial interest in analysing numbers to take strategic decisions. You are used to work in a fast-paced international environment and liaise with multiple stakeholders at all levels including external vendors. The role requires you to have the ability to work independently and take full ownership of your own work as well as be a team player.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in an larger organization
  • Experience of vendor management and negotiations
  • Experience of project management
  • Experience leading North America facilities initiatives
  • Experience of Line management
  • Excellent communication skills in English (both spoken and written). Ability to digest and communicate complex concepts clearly
  • Ability to work independently. You will be facing abstract and high-level guidance from time to time. You will need sound judgement in evaluating risks and opportunities
  • Sound ability to collaborate with individuals/teams at all levels. Your social skills in collaborating and positively influencing others is important to us
