Job description
Hudson River Trading builds custom, high performance hardware to support our global trading infrastructure. High performance design requires even higher performance verification. Are you passionate about exposing malicious bugs in complex designs and fixing them? Are you an ace tester and practicing toolsmith? Do you want to be part of a team actively working to rethink, redesign, and surpass the status quo? At HRT, we're building the verification environment of tomorrow.
Hardware verification is part of a small but growing team at HRT which is integral to ensuring the success of our trading in the future. We are looking for smart hardware engineers with a passion for hardware and figuring out how things work under the hood.
As a Verification Engineer on HRT's Hardware Team, you will step into an incredible learning opportunity; you can expect to always be challenged by the ever-changing financial markets as you work on critical hardware and software in an extremely fast-paced, real-time environment. We are lightweight and open source. Your impact will range from shaving nanoseconds off of our bleeding-edge trading applications to implementing more computationally intensive applications into our FPGA.
Skills
- Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem solving skills
- Some experience (academic or internship) with digital logic (Verilog or VHDL)
- Proficiency in an Object-Oriented Programming language (Python and/or C++ preferred)
- Experience with UVM / more rigorous verification experience is a nice-to-have but not required!
Profile
- In your spare time you: tinker, read, fix things, and have an insatiable curiosity for all things hardware related...you'll find like-minded people here
- You are passionate about delivering safe and performant hardware and you assume everything is broken until proven otherwise
- You possess a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field
- You have some understanding of what functional simulation is and/or some basic experience using a simulator (e.g. ModelSim, Xcelium)
- You are capable of working independently as well as part of a team
- You can analyze and fix problems quickly
- You really like to work with people who challenge you and make you better at what you do
