at our Support Center located in Downtown Chicago, IL

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the initial point of contact for our Employee Relations Hotline & responds to HR inquiries for both field and support center employees. The HRM is accountable for the assessment of the inquiry/complaint identifying risks, involving the appropriate parties, proposing recommendations and/or taking action to ensure a timely resolution (general to complex matters).

  • Manages the onboarding process for community/support center leaders (and above) and confirms compliance for state specific requirements; ensures the proper company policies and practices are effectively communicated.

  • Manages criminal history checks company-wide; including the review of individual criminal assessments and audit reports.

  • Manages the FMLA and Leave of Absence programs partnering with field and support center leaders in conjunction with the Senior HR Coordinator to ensure policy adherence with employees returning to work, restrictions, and ADA matters.

  • Manages the data collection process from inception to completion for HR initiatives; performance management, HR audits, and routine or general field/ support center requests.

  • Manages the HR Ops vendor relationship(s) and provides updates, troubleshoots service issues, and educates end users when appropriate. Serves as the department subject matter expert for a select vendor.

  • Oversees low level to complex HR initiatives and routine projects supporting the support center and/or field locations with minimal supervision.

  • Consistently researches and offers suggestions to further advance HR function and processes.

  • Manages the employee referral and corporate credit card programs for field and corporate employees.

  • Additional duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications

  • 2-5 years HR experience

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Ability to thrive within a team environment and work independently with minimal supervision

  • Possess the ability to handle complex issues and use critical thinking

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Suite Office

  • Exhibits good time management

  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal communication skills at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to influence and provide coaching/guidance w/ frontline and next level leaders

  • Ability to travel a minimum of 20 -30 % with overnight stay; could fluctuate based on the business need

  • The ability to work a flexible work schedule including some evenings and weekends


Preferred Qualifications

  • PHR or SHRM-CP.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred

  • Multi-site exposure

  • Demonstrates progression within the HR Field

  • Previous experience working with payroll, HRIS, FMLA/LOA, benefits, employee hotline, HR audits, reporting and compliance.
