Description Robert Half is seeking an Accounts Receivable (A/R) Clerk. The accounting team is growing quickly and is looking for someone interested in great career growth potential and a great benefits package. Entering, posting, and reconciling batches, researching and resolving customer A/R issues, preparing aging report, placing billing and collection calls, maintaining cash receipts journal, updating, and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L will be among the Accounts Receivable Clerk's duties. If you are a self-starter with high attention to detail, you are likely to be successful at handling 200+ invoices a week at this Accounts Receivable Clerk position. This is a long-term contract / temporary to hire Accounts Receivable Clerk position and is based in the Chicago, Illinois area.
What you get to do every day
- Compile segments of monthly closings and annual reports and take care of payments in compliance with GAAP
- Contact clients to help resolve payment issues; assist in setting up payment plans
- Review status of delinquent accounts daily and initiate collection action by contacting customers
- Verify codes and documents
- Reconcile bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in different ledgers
- Execute a number of foundational accounting tasks in agreement with normal procedures, including general accounting tasks
- Communicate information, as requested to shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stakeholders
- Represent and exude the values, culture, and mission of the organization Requirements - Less than one year of experience
- Analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy
- Current and relevant ERP system experience
- Earlier work involving Computer Data Entry
- Adeptness in Bank Deposit
- Previous experience working with Invoice Entry
- Strong familiarity with Credit Card Deposits
- Document Scanning experience desired
- General familiarity with data entry
- Good understanding of order entry
- Demonstrated knowledge of customer invoices
- Daily Deposit experience
- Background working with Typing Data Entry
- Perform Data Entry experience highly preferred
- Practical knowledge of numeric data entry
- Command of Check Deposit
- Daily Bank Deposits experience preferred
- Reliable skills in Microsoft Office with excellent Excel skills
- AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field
- Be detailed, flexible, and organized
