Job description

Reporting to the Manager, Research and Development, the Senior Food Scientist, Baking manages exploration, development, and improvement of dry-blend products and technology. You will contribute to and help lead the creation of in-house baking products and knowledge for existing Conagra Brands products, and longer-term research efforts to create advantaged products. You will create new product development for product line growth, technology/process development for creating new capabilities, and identify external sources for ingredient and process technology development in the baking space. You will design, executes, and documents research to expand the platform's knowledge base, advance longer-term project work, to ensure products with unique attributes.

What You'll Do:

* Develop new products beginning at the concept phase through successful commercialization
* Design and conduct plant trials and new product startups
* Create product development schedules that are required to meet project timelines
* Work with pilot plant equipment
* Learn and use online specification system
* Design and execute experiments and prepare results for review
* Conceptualize and develop new product prototypes
* Lead product cuttings, plant trials, and testing
* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including the cleaning of equipment, utensils and work surfaces

What You'll Bring:

* BS in Food Science, minimum 5 years work experience
* Exhibit leadership and attitudes in approaching technical solutions to business and market issues
* Strong project management experience
* Conflict resolution skills
* Great relationship skills to achieve partnership and collaboration
* Requires knowledge in food product design, formulation, ingredient functionality and interaction, process design, product scale-up, plant testing and commercialization
* Experience with food industry standards of quality and foods safety, and FDA regulations.
* Experience with government regulatory requirements in the processing of food
* Travel 15-20%
