Job Description
Summary:
As the Human Resources Manager, you will enhance the organization by strategically aligning HR policies and procedures to meet the organization's needs. Partner with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy, particularly regarding current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
In this role, you will partner with employees and the management team to lead change.
What you will do:
* Establish an effective and sustainable recruitment process to bring new talent into the company through internships, co-ops, and apprenticeships.
* Maintain a strong focus on talent development for all stages of the pipeline.
* Partner with the plant management team and help guide decisions.
* Perform a complete review of current policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance with local/federal regulations.
* Build & maintain strong employee relations and maintain a union-free environment.
* Understand the recent Model Factory changes and support the current business state through appropriate HR practices.
* Propose new ideas and support the roll-out of various HR initiatives to reinforce the ITW company culture.
* Support the payroll process through submitting accurate employees' hours worked, including bonus and cash awards
* Excellent communication skills, including the ability to listen and effectively verbalize ideas
* A solid understanding of the critical principles of employment law
* Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
* The ability to remain calm in stressful situations, including during disciplinary hearings or staff conflicts
* Solid ethics and morals and sound judgment
* Investigate routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
* Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
* Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
* Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices; reviews policies and procedures to maintain compliance.
* Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and, talent management, and employment law.
Qualifications
Experience Differentiators:
* 5 plus years' proven results in an HR Generalist role with the desire to grow
* Track record of collaborating with others and informally influencing decisions
* Knowledge and understanding of 80-20 approach to HR
* Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
* HR business partnering experience - ability to challenge the status quo
* Analytical and previous process development exposure
