Responsibilities
Job Summary:
As a Compensation Manager, you will work under the direction of the Director of Compensation and will provide analytical expertise for our manufacturing locations under our Food Merchandising and Beverage Merchandising business units, providing guidance and interpretation of various compensation policies. This role will primarily focus on wage analysis, market pricing, and skills based compensation structures, as well as managing analytics projects that support the plant locations.
Essential functions:
* Manages daily activities related to market pricing to include the matching of internal positions to external data using standardized surveys for purposes of making recommendations to line management regarding base salary levels, appropriate level assignment, total compensation opportunity, and/or hiring ranges for a given position;
* Participates in various compensation-related projects which involve revision, development and/or re-design of existing compensation programs. This includes high-level project management, partnering with appropriate internal and external resources, and ensuring that projects are on time and on budget, while achieving desired goals and objectives;
* Conducts job analysis to determine appropriate wage rate level, as well as skill progression, according to compensation guidelines and policy;
* Works with plant management and HR staff to ensure accurate job descriptions for positions at specified plant locations;
* Analyzes company compensation policies in relation to local wage and hour regulations, prevailing rates for similar jobs in comparable industries and geographic areas, and recommends changes as appropriate to establish and maintain competitive rates;
* Analyzes organizational pay practices and makes recommendations for wage rate changes to ensure equity;
* Partners with the HRIS team to ensure that appropriate measurements are identified and data gathered for use by the compensation department;
* Helps implement special compensation programs or bonus systems for specific plant locations to support the organization's objectives;
* Maintains a high level of data integrity, flagging and resolving inconsistencies when appropriate;
* Provides technical guidance to other team members when necessary;
* Actively participates in projects and meetings for assigned business group and HR department; and
* Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Finance or HR, and at least 5 years of experience in compensation with at least 1 year in manufacturing; OR some college and at least 7 years of experience in compensation with at least 2 years in manufacturing preferred
* Highly proficient in Excel
* Proficient in Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Strong math skills
* Ability to research complex questions
* Ability to conduct complex analysis of market pricing, local labor wage data collection, etc.
* CCP preferred, but not required
