WHAT YOU WILL DO

Support staff development with educational activities including remediation, certification, mentoring, regulatory requirements, new equipment/procedures, and EMR updates.

Serve as a leader to promote the professional growth of peers.

Collaborate with others in the practice of staff development at the institutional, local, regional, state, national, and international levels.

Develop, coordinate, maintain, evaluate and improve components of the orientation process using evidenced-based practice.

Evaluate, on an ongoing basis, the results of educational programs, processes, and clinical interventions to ensure activities are meeting the standards of practice and regulatory requirements.

Assess staff training or education needs by collecting data and feedback; plan educational interventions based on data collected.

Identify and collaborate with content experts to develop activities to facilitate learner's achievement of the educational objectives.

Participate in and use evidence-based research to identify strategies for improving professional development activities and practice.

Incorporate principles of adult learning in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of education programs.

WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED

Prior Nursing and/or Education/Staff Development experience.

Basic knowledge of computer software, hardware, and communication devices to perform tasks.

Work independently with minimal supervision.

Infection control knowledge.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.

Knowledge of principles of quality patient care.

Deliver presentations and public speaking engagements.

Develop effective relationships with patients, hospital departments, and other external parties.

Possess teaching abilities, organization skills and a personal commitment to quality Healthcare delivery.

Effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
