Zurich is currently looking for a Business Systems Analyst to work out of our North American headquarters in Schaumburg, IL. The Analyst will serve as a liaison between the Business and IT in providing solutions to their business systems needs and will understand customers' objectives, processes, and products as well as the business systems capabilities to formulate, define, document and implement systems scope and objectives to develop and provides solutions.
As a key member within the Data Management Support unit, the Business Systems Analyst will be part of a Scrum Team focused on delivering enterprise dashboard solutions. The Analyst's primary responsibilities will include assessing and assigning complexity to dashboard requests, as well as documenting the backlog of features and working with Scrum Masters in the estimation process. The Analyst will also solicit requirements into technical specifications and support the design, development and testing of dashboard solutions.
Key focus areas will include:
+ Ability to master complex data transformation concepts, including data warehousing principles
+ Ability to capture requirements in a formal manner
+ Ability to be resilient in the face of complex systems, complex problems and demanding deadlines
+ Ability to work well with others in a highly interdependent and high-performing team
Other responsibilities will include:
+ Leading the analysis of requirements to determine the systems' potential, and define impact to other business units and systems and to provide input to the development effort
+ Supporting the design and development of enterprise dashboards
+ Creating process models based on business requirements in order to determine the completeness of the information and process components
+ Coordinating and leading activities with product owners to gather requirements
+ Providing customers with cost/benefit analysis, risk assessment and scope definition of proposed requirements
+ Guiding users in building business case, performing impact analysis, supporting application testing, implementation and training activities throughout the process
+ Leading individual or sub-project tasks affecting single or multiple business units and IT departments
+ Evaluating project impact through consultation with the business, regulatory, IT management, development, quality assurance, training teams
+ Supporting system configuration and integration testing including the functionality, performance and fit to ensure original requirements are met
+ Managing tasks according to work plans, timelines, and budgets
+ Evaluating relative feedback and Return On Investment to effectively prioritize business requests
+ Performing business process modeling and re-engineering based on business requirements in order to determine the completeness of the information and process components
+ Utilizing requirements management tools and techniques such as Use Cases, Data Matrix, Process Flow Diagrams, DevOps, etc.
+ Understanding and applying delivery approaches (i.e., Agile methodology, Scrum) and performing, independently, business analysis processes in accordance with Zurich's project management framework and risk policy
Basic Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering and 5 or more years of experience in the Information Technology areaOR
+ High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Information Technology areaAND
+ Process reengineering, e.g., LEAN/Six Sigma, Continuous improvement methodologies
+ Process modeling tools
+ Business Systems Integration
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience in intermediate to complex enterprise projects
+ Design and development of dashboards
+ Strong technical acumen and data analysis skills
+ Able to identify and consider business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment
+ General knowledge of insurance including knowledge of insurance business processes and processing
+ Strong problem-solving, analytical skills
+ Data-related problem-solving experience
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills needed; ability to tailor approach based upon audience and message
+ Hands-on experience with change management tools/methodologies
