Overview of Position
Business Systems Analyst will assist Operations, Product, and Data Quality teams with detailed analysis in both automated and manual solutions related to processing EDI 835 transactions. Involved in conducting detailed analytical exercises to define problems, identify deficiencies and improve solutions which impact the organization's effectiveness. This role will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define business requirements for issue resolution activities and process improvement.What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
+ Conducts detailed analysis on 835 transactions and remittance documents regarding quality issues for resolution through internal teams and external client interactions
+ Work with clients and internal business partners as a member of the ERA quality team to collect, analyze, construct, and support technical requirements for client implementations and technical issues
+ Produce gap analysis documentation to remedy quality concerns with transaction sets
+ Defines quality attributes and/or develops basic test scenarios to support unit and functional testing
+ Conducts requirements reviews; evaluating clarity, conciseness, comprehensiveness, and appropriateness of specifications
+ Within the scope of strategic/corporate initiatives; elicits requirements, creates documentation, participate in risk management, and works with project teams to determine prioritization
+ Provides expert knowledge and analysis of ANSI X12 Healthcare EDI standards with an emphasis on 835 (ERA) transactions and business to business payments.
+ Conducts X12 analysis on EDI dataset using EDI validation and apply business edits for resolution.
What are the requirements needed for this position?
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
+ 5+ years of professional experience in a technical and analytical role
+ 5+ years of experience working with 835 transactions
+ Ability to analyze and troubleshoot 835 (ERA) transactions including balancing claim/service line amounts
+ Strong understanding of healthcare revenue cycle concepts required
+ Understanding of X12 EDI processing methodologies and file structures
+ Ability to identify and understand the business problem and the impact of the proposed solution on the operations of the organization
+ Strong understanding and broad range of experience with technical systems
What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?
+ 5+ years of professional experience in a Healthcare technical and analytical role
+ Experience billing claims and/or posting remittance transactions is desirable
+ Strong organizational and project management skills
+ Ability to interact with internal staff at all levels
+ Excellent oral and written skills in order to effectively communicate with customers and internal staff
+ Ability to develop and deliver presentation materials
+ Demonstrates ability to use technology effectively and productively

Up to 5% travel may be required
