Job description
Skyline Furniture is a family-owned and operated wholesale furniture company, based just outside of Chicago. Skyline is known throughout the furniture industry for fashion-forward design and handcrafted quality. Skyline's affordable, custom-made pieces can be found at top retailers online and across the country.
Skyline is looking for a highly-motivated Customer Service Representative, responsible for providing timely and accurate information to internal and external customers.
Primary Responsibilities
· Resolve customer inquiries via telephone and written correspondence in a timely and appropriate manner.
· Supports the order placement process through order entry, checking inventory levels, lead times, updating customer information and order management
· Promptly handle incoming customer calls and emails regarding order processing, order tracking and general inquiries
· Maintain a proactive team approach while coordinating between internal departments including sales, production, shipping and accounting
· Support sales regarding product availability, alternate product selection and compliance with current lead times
· Establish and maintain product knowledge to effectively meet customer service expectations
· Calculate pricing and shipping quotes
· Ability to prioritize work and quickly adapt to changes in workload or type
· Work with a high degree of accuracy following established company/department policies and procedures
· Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications
· 1-2 Years of related experience required
· Associate's or Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
· Efficient in Microsoft Excel/Word
· Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience in a customer-facing role
· Strong problem solving ability to understand critical issues and bring appropriate resolution
· A collaborative and flexible style, with a strong service mentality. Needs to be seen as a team player that is committed to lifelong learning and success for the company and its employees
· Strong commitment to attract, develop, and retain key team members
· Demonstrated commitment to the company's culture with a passion for the organization's mission is essential
