JOB SUMMARY:
The Recruiting/Employee Relations Coordinator will counsel team members regarding work-related problems or issues and act as liaison between team members and departments/leadership to resolve issues and facilitate resolutions. The recruiting coordinator will be responsible for participating in the hiring process from beginning to end. Some responsibilities include: attracting candidates, processing data in the recruiting database to schedule and conduct pre-screening, interviews, and assist with new hire on-boarding.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Participates in grievances/arbitrations
• Assists in coaching/counseling team members and management on employee relations issues.
• Responsible for conducting team member investigations
• Schedule and coordinate on-site interviews for candidates for all stakeholders
• Post, track, maintain position openings for the departments and with all social media platforms
• Facilitate job fairs, assist with on-boarding new hires, offer letters, and recruiting HRIS system/requisitions
• Keeps abreast of developments in labor relations, research on tops of interest in meeting company objectives.
• Ensures all policies/procedures are within contract compliance
• Assists in gathering information for inquiries by various federal/state agencies
• Responsible for property walk-throughs and corresponding reporting
• Consistently demonstrates excellent communication skills, establishes, and maintains relationships with team members at all levels for the purpose of providing them with accurate feedback.
• Lead an organization with methods and actions that are ethical and in full compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Company policies.
• Identify compliance risks and take actions necessary to eliminate or minimize risks.
• Champion, within the organization, a commitment to honesty, integrity, and responsible corporate behavior.
• Create a compliance culture within the organization and foster an environment where employees feel comfortable reporting potential violations or misconduct.
• Document and track all concerns that arise from the ethics hotline, and all other facets.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
EDUCATIONS and/or EXPERIENCE:
College Degree in Labor Relations, Recruiting, HR or Business Administration preferred. Experience in hotel/casino industry preferred. Supervisor and 2 years previous HR experience preferred. Knowledge of all employment related laws and basic knowledge of Labor Law with a general knowledge of Human Resources Management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Knowledge of National Labor Relations Act and Equal Employment opportunity/Affirmative Action.
• Strong organizational, analytical, communications (verbal and written) skills, and the ability to handle complex and emotional issues.
• Successful candidate should have experience working in a Union environment, including collective bargaining and grievance handling.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality.

COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, the incumbent must possess excellent skills and knowledge of Microsoft programs including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Publisher. Must possess good working knowledge of general computer programs. Must be proficient and accurate in data entry.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a license from the Indiana Horse Racing Commission and the Indiana Gaming Commission.
