Job description

Reporting to the Chief Human Resources and Culture Officer, the VP of Human Resources will design, develop and promote cutting edge people strategies. This role is responsible for transforming the way our company looks at its human capital talent, creating an outstanding environment for team success. The incumbent is the champion of our employer brand and future HR and Culture Officer for our business.
This role will partner with business leaders to develop and implement programs that support company core values and business objectives, enhance the employee experience. You'll use feedback metrics to tracks program effectiveness, making adjustments as needed.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
HR LEADERSHIP EXCELLENCE

  • Build a team of HR professionals who care about the organization and desire to build an outstanding team.
  • Develop HR talent in order to promote and create the best HR practices for the HR team.

TALENT ACQUISITION AND DEVELOPMENT

  • Oversee the talent acquisition function and build a best practice talent strategy the supports Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Directly manage all Director and above searches as needed.
  • Work with senior management to determine and execute annual talent development plans for members of the organization.
  • Contract with outside suppliers to provide employee services, such as temporary employees and recruiting firms.
  • Execute a cutting-edge talent acquisition strategy that improves our ability to attract, select and retain above average talent.

BUSINESS PARTNERSHIPS AND RELATIONS

  • Serve as a business partner to senior management; oversee and advise workforce planning, recruitment, talent development, employee engagement, and investment in a healthy corporate culture across the organization.
  • Proactively keep senior management informed of changes and developments in the human resources area, including best "people" practices.
  • Advise senior management with respect to appropriate resolution of employee relations issues and search needs.
  • Develop and maintain a human resources system that produces information for senior management decision making and help advises management decision-making around organizational structure and staff.
  • Support ad hoc requests from senior management.
  • Develop cutting edge employment policies and design an employee handbook consistent with our mission, vision, and values.
  • Foster and implement programs that support the local community and RWC initiatives.

TOTAL REWARDS AND PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

  • Enhance the Total Rewards Strategy by implementing plans that support and advance our position in the market.
  • Develop and coordinate performance review program to ensure effectiveness & relationship to business strategy and senior management goal setting, compliance, and equity within organization.
  • Analyze compensation and salary surveys and other data to determine competitive compensation plans. Design, recommend and implement short and long-term incentive plans as well as recognition programs.
  • Design benefit programs that support RWC's Total Rewards Strategy.
  • Administer benefit programs such as life, health, and dental insurance, retirement plans, vacation, sick leave, and leave of absence, and Welfare Benefit Plan.
  • Oversee Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED:

  • 10+ years of human resources experience, minimum of 5 years as a VP or above (reporting directly to CEO or President).
  • Clear evidence of contributing to and driving the development of growth strategies as an executive leader.
  • Team player, self-starter, and independent creative thinker.
  • Proven experience overseeing the HR function through periods of significant growth and inflection points.
  • Experience with human resource technologies that can bring continued efficiency to operations, for example, online HR portals.
  • Working knowledge of human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational design, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state employment laws.
  • Knowledge and experience finding and implementing continued training options for personnel throughout the organization, for example, anti-harassment training, excel spreadsheet training, etc.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook.

PREFERRED:

  • Master's Degree
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment and/or supporting multi-site and multi-shift operations
  • SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.

Measured by the successful achievement of key people metrics including retention, engagement, recruitment (cost per hire, quality of hire, onboarding success, etc.).
