Job Summary:

Real Estate Recovery Capital (RERC) is a real estate investment and advisory company that is part of The Heritage Group family of companies. Reporting to the VP of Real Estate, this individual will support both the advisory and investment functions of RERC and will serve as an advisor to THG and its operating companies. This role will require an individual with financial analysis skills, a thorough understanding of real estate transactions and management, and attention to detail that includes project management and the ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously. An individual in this position will also need to exhibit excellent communication skills, discretion, and comfort working in ambiguity.

Critical Job Functions:

  • Support THG and Real Estate Initiatives
    • Work closely with business units to understand business unit requirements and their operations to provide optimal real estate solutions which align with the needs of the user and organizational priorities and long-term objectives.
    • Coordinate the search for new or alternative facilities in markets by conducting the appropriate market research and analysis and present options to the deal team
  • Deal Coordination and Execution
    • Perform all aspects of deal execution including coordination with internal deal team members and external service providers
    • Identify service providers for a project such as appraisers, brokers, and surveyors. Evaluate proposals and make recommendations
    • Negotiate with real estate brokers, owners, and tenants, on key terms of real estate transactions including LOIs, proposals, PSAs, leases, and key agreements (license, access, listing, etc.)
  • Financial Analysis and Portfolio Oversight
    • Detailed financial analysis including returns models and operating models
    • Work with sellers and deal team to ensure appropriate assumptions are in our pro forma
    • Evaluation of market data with a particular focus on comparable sales
    • Lease administration and property management, which may include payment and collection of rents, contract review for tenant and landlord compliance, maintaining and updating a portfolio database, operating expense review, document storage, maintenance, etc.

Relevant Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of real estate or business experience and a b roker's license is highly preferred
  • Strong financial analysis skills with expertise in Excel
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to work independently - be proactive, self-directed, and prioritize workload
  • Demonstrates creative thinking and problem solving
  • Strong work ethic, integrity, and professionalism
  • High level of understanding of confidentiality and maintaining sensitive information
  • Limited travel
