Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible and accountable for processing and maintaining compliance in Public Housing files in multiple sites. Provide support to the other departments as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Receives resident files from property staff and reviews for compliance accuracy, process all verifications and process file in PHA-web and State Electronic Systems. * Extensive knowledge of Section 8 housing program rules and reporting requirements * Notify the Public Housing Manager if substantial problems found with property compliance. * Ensure site compliance with all rules and regulations set forth by regulatory agencies associated with the company and/or its subsidy programs. * Process Annual Recertification in a timely manner. * Review and maintain resident files for compliance approval. * Travel (as needed) to properties to assist with compliance needs. * Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS * High school diploma or general education degree (GED) * 2 years of experience * Housing Specialist designation to be obtained after 24 months in position * Knowledge of HUD Public Housing Program * Capability to research and plan implementation of any of the programs above or others as required

  • Able to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities. * Strong time management skills and attention to detail. * Language Skills - Ability to read, write, speak and interpret basic instructions, simple correspondence and present information one-on-one or in small groups. * Math Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide using whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability to compare rate, ratio and percentages and interpret basic graphs. * Reasoning Skills - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems that involve concrete variables in standardized situations. * Computer Skills - Intermediate experience with MS Office, MS Outlook, State Reporting websites.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
