Job description

This is a Sr. Test Technician position with The Marley Company, a parent company which provides administrative support to the SPX Corporation HVAC Heating businesses (such as WM Technologies, LLC, Marley Engineered Products, LLC, The Marley-Wylain Company, LLC and Patterson-Kelley, LLC) and includes all Weil-McLain® branded products.

Develop, implement, and maintain test programs along with preparing the associated documentation on boilers in order to determine their compliance to applicable requirements. Fabricates and constructs assemblies and components as required.

Principle Duties And Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily lab testing activities under minimal guidance of the Lab Supervisor.
• Generate test reports, test procedures, and test schedules for NPI and Sustaining Engineering Projects.
• Work with Product Engineers and Lab Management on developing test plans, procedures, and schedules.
• Maintain and update lab scheduling tools.
• Maintain and update Engineering Lab Work Instructions.
• Develop, modify, and troubleshoot laboratory automation control and data acquisition systems (hardware and software), serving as a primary resource for automation related subjects.
• Fabricate and construct test jigs and fixtures as required for development and certification testing. Fixtures should keep pace with changes in boiler and test equipment technology. Operate shop machinery such as table saw, hand saw, hand drill, drill press, metal bending and cutting machines, and some manual machining using a lathe and a milling machine as required.
• Independently set-up, configure and use laboratory test equipment.
• Develop and maintain detailed test reports.
• Assist in development proposals for equipment purchase and calibration, maintenance and operation instructions.
• Assist with internal and external laboratory audits.
  

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Demonstrates strong organization skills and computer knowledge.
• Demonstrates the skills to fabricate assemblies, components and prototypes.
• Demonstrates the skills and the working knowledge for test setups and conducting certification test. (CSA/ANS/BTS agency standards a plus).
• Demonstrates knowledge of mechanical Engineering techniques.
• Demonstrates basic blue print reading and wire diagram skills
  

Education And Experience

• High School education required
• Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related discipline preferred
• 5-9 years relevant experience preferred with certification
