Do you enjoy working in a lab? Are you energized by a manufacturing environment? If so, our Lab Technician role in our Purina Animal Nutrition manufacturing plant may be a great fit for you!


As a Lab Tech, your focus would be on testing finished products and participating in our comprehensive Quality Assurance program. You will also be involved in record-keeping activities as it relates to finished product specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Run and record product tests

  • Run and transmit finished product tests and data

  • Manage tag inventories

  • Distribute housekeeping forms

  • Evaluate and manage storage of finished product samples

  • Assist with monthly inventories

  • Assist with record verification and document/sample retention policies

  • Other duties as assigned by plant quality management

Hours: 11PM - 7:30AM, 3rd Shift hours

Experience-Education (Required):

  • High School or equivalent education (GED)

  • Work experience in a laboratory or manufacturing setting

Competencies-Skills (Required):

  • Laboratory testing

  • Able to interpret results of testing for accuracy, reasonableness, compliance with specifications, etc. and to perform simple problem-solving tasks and troubleshooting.

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Self-direction and accuracy.

Experience-Education (Preferred):

  • 2 or 4 year College degree in Agriculture, the Sciences, or related fields.

Competencies-Skills (Preferred):

  • Well versed in Microsoft Office and other analytical software

  • Lab equipment knowledge such as HPLC, Protein Analyzer, Crude Fiber, Ether Extract Fat
