Lakeshore Talent has partnered with a large Orthotics company to staff a direct hire Billing/AR Manager role in South Bend, IN.?
Position Summary: ? The Billing/ AR Manager is responsible for the clerical and administrative management functions for all clinical practice billing/AR activities, including verification of invoice information, maintenance of third party billing records, and resolution of a variety of associated problems.? The Manager makes appropriate corrections to systems to satisfy system requirements and resubmit claims as needed.? The Billing Manager oversees and investigates problem accounts with insurance companies and customers to resolve any pending issues.? The Billing Manager reports directly to the COO and exhibits a high level of organization, excellent customer service skills and is attentive to detail.? Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
As the Billing Manager; monitor billing and AR operations for all offices and serve as a resource on billing issues for all clinical practices.? Assist in reconciling billing and AR issues as needed.?
Assist in developing criteria and reporting for periodic chart audits and execute audits.
Assist in maintaining/updating payor information and files.
Supervise training and ensure training effectiveness for all new billers and AR Associates.
Supervise billings to patients and third party reimbursement claims; maintaining supporting document files and current patient demographic information.
Supervise patient statement distribution.?
Researching and responding by telephone and in writing to patient inquiries regarding billing problems.?
Supervise submitted claims follow up, including monitoring unpaid claims, initiating tracers and resubmitting claims as necessary.?
Supervise patient cash and credit receipts and third party reimbursements.
Monitor balancing daily batches and reports; preparing income reports and statistics; distributing reports.?
Maintaining patient demographic information and data collection systems.?
Supervise and evaluate Billing and AR staff.
Participating in development of organization procedures and updating forms and manuals.
Ensuring strict confidentiality of patient financial records.
Promote education opportunities for staff members.
Onboarding of new practice staff and new practice billing.
Other administrative duties as assigned.
Job Specifications:
Associate degree preferred; Preferred certification(s) from courses in Medical Coding.
Any combination or equivalent of degree requirement, and three to five years of related experience involving the essential functions of this position.
