Job description

The Buyer Planner sources, purchases, plans, and schedules the movement of parts, components, services, supplies, finish goods and related material through production and inventory process. Purchases, plans, and coordinates resulting material movement throughout operation and inventory sequences. In frontend procurement mode, analyzes data and determines factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules. Coordinates and follows up with warehouse, production, and engineering personnel to ensure appropriate procurement, scheduling, and movement of materials and services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Sets up new items (part numbers) in item master on current ERP system and maintenance existing items maintaining current revisions.
* Loads/maintenance Bill of Materials utilizing current ERP system.
* Maintain master data sheet to ensure accuracy.
* Establish and follow procedures for purchase order issuance, inventory management.
* Assure the smooth flow of materials into and through the facility with close interaction with vendors and materials planning, scheduling, manufacturing.
* Identify, plan and procure items under his/her responsibility for production needs based on established inventory goals.
* Publish weekly and monthly reports of shipments status and other activities.
* Supports and acts as backup to the warehouse assistance manager.
* Perform other position duties as assigned.
