Job description
The Receiving Clerk is a key role managing overall satisfaction of International Business Partners and Customers. Handle and arrange various aspects of international shipments from inception, documentation, shipment, distribution and AES filing according to customer requirements. Process shipping paperwork to ensure timely and accurate delivery and compliance with all regulations in regard to US Customs and DOT regulations.
Your Role
The Receiving Clerk is a key role managing overall satisfaction of International Business Partners and Customers. Handle and arrange various aspects of international shipments from inception, documentation, shipment, distribution and AES filing according to customer requirements. Process shipping paperwork to ensure timely and accurate delivery and compliance with all regulations in regard to US Customs and DOT regulations.
Your Responsibilities
* Responsible for supporting and meeting KN and/or customer KPIs within their sphere of responsibility.
* Awareness of and adherence to QSHE programs.
* Process and generate International documents (case sheets) daily using SAP, DHL, Manhattan, Puralator, etc.
* Completion of all necessary shipping documents, records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion.
* Properly bond required orders based on time constraints for release (using customer's excel file)
* Process documentation and physically handle freight labeling and inspection (lifting required)
* Respond to customer and carrier inquiries via email with detailed accuracy; Communicate often through emails with customer and freight forwarder (MS Outook)
* Execute carrier pick-up schedule to ensure tasks are being prioritized and completed contributing to overall day to day business success.
* Research orders in Manhattan and SAP systems to resolve freight issues (VT12, VL02N, VT03N, VL03N, VT02N, VF03, etc.)
* Assist with manifesting
* Research and rectify lost or found orders as needed
* Monitor and resolve Carrier Issue log concerns
* Ability to meet attendance requirements and work overtime as required achieving customer metrics.
* The ability to interact effectively and professionally with coworkers.
* Participate in KN Care
* Will perform other job tasks, as assigned.
Your Skills and Experiences
* High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Proven basic math skills at the high school level
* Ideal candidates will be familiar with international shipping and documentation & have prior experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
* Languages: English - Ability to speak, read, write and interpret documents
* Ability to establish priorities and accomplish multiple tasks with minimal supervision
* Strong PC skills demonstrating proficiency in Warehouse Mgt Systems (SAP preferred) Excel and PowerPoint.
* Strong work ethic and team player.
* High degree of professionalism. Ability to communicate with various levels of the organization. Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills.
* Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
* Material Handling Equipment (pallet jack)
