Job description

Instructor is responsible for organizing and teaching classes (lecture, lab, and clinical hours) as assigned by the Program Coordinator/Department Director. Must be comfortable teaching a variety of methods; online, lecture, or lab and capable of creating an environment conducive to student learning.

Classes include Advanced or Acute Care CNA , Medication Aide, Medication Manager; assist in development of additional short-term training courses/curriculum.

Required Qualification

RN with two years minimum work experience in their field of expertise.

Flexibility in work schedule best, yet Iowa Western Continuing Education is open to some non-traditional offerings.

Preferred Qualification

Teaching experience preferred.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. occasionally. Standing/sitting in front of a classroom, use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone, and other basic office equipment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, and use a phone. Reading, writing, calculating, social interaction skills, reasoning/analysis, and ability to work with minimal supervision, high degree of problem-solving, organizational skills with the teaching and learning process.
