Job description
Currently looking for lab assistants for our welding program. Will need assistants in the morning, afternoon, and evening. Positions will start in August 2021, however, there may be some opportunities over the summer.
This position will assist the faculty in instruction, be responsible for safety requirements during labs, and assist organizing the welding labs for class.
Applicants should have competency and knowledge of current welding practice and trends. Should be able to function well in a team with program faculty and students to promote, develop and deliver quality education programs that are in the best interest of the students and the college.
All lab practices must meet safety regulations. Must maintain lab safety and cleanliness through instructional activities.

Required Qualification
Welding associate degree, diploma, or certificate OR 3 years of work experience.
Preferred Qualification
Physical Demands
Requires prolonged standing or sitting. Requires frequent bending, stooping or stretching. May require heavy lifting depending on assignment and lab. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
Requires the safe use of electrical equipment. Ability to use hands to operate a computer keyboard, telephone and other basic office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear and use a phone. Reading, writing, calculating, social interaction skills, and organizational skills, reasoning/analysis, ability work with minimal supervision, high degree of problem-solving, decision-making, and high degree of interpersonal skills is required. Work is routinely performed in an office environment.
Hiring process includes ability to pass a background check, a valid U.S Driver's license, and a good driving record.
